Crystal graduated with an LL.B. from Queen’s University in 2002. She has also received her Chartered Insurance Professional designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada and an honours certificate in advanced police sciences from Algonquin College.

Crystal initially joined Hamilton | Appotive in 1993 as a law clerk. In 1999 she left the firm to attend law school and she returned to Hamilton | Appotive after being called to the Bar in 2003.

Crystal holds memberships in the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association and the Insurance Institute of Ontario. 

In her spare time she participates in various sporting activities and is an avid Senators fan.
