Stephen enjoys the personalized feeling of the mid-sized Hamilton | Appotive firm. He is known as a strong, confident and fair-minded advisor, who can quickly distill the key issues in the case at hand.

Stephen graduated from Carleton University in 1970 with an honours bachelor of commerce degree and from Osgoode Hall in 1973 with an honours LL.B. In 1975 he was called to the Bar as a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada.

Stephen joined Hamilton | Appotive as a litigation partner in 1978. He is currently a member of the Ontario Bar Association, the Advocates Society and the Medical-Legal Society. The Law Society of Upper Canada recognized Stephen's efforts and accomplishments in 1990 by certifying him as a Specialist in Civil Litigation.

Stephen, who is an ardent Ottawa Senators fan, gives back to the community by delivering lectures and leading seminars dealing with trial advocacy. He has also served as president or director of a number of charitable and volunteer organizations.
